Order processing times
After an order is placed, your product will be prepared and we aim to deliver within 1 to 5 working days. This will depend on product availability, which can vary seasonally. Other factors such as delivery routes, access to property and volumes ordered can affect delivery times.
During peak season January – June delivery can take longer but you will be advised on lead times once your order has placed.
Once your order has been received, the team will contact you to confirm a delivery day.
Please be aware WE DO NOT PROVIDE A DELIVERY TIME or time slots for your scheduled delivery day.
Deliveries are available Monday to Friday, excluding Bank Holidays. Saturday deliveries are by special arrangement only.
Delivery Instructions
We ask all customers to advise of where they would prefer their bags to be left. Our drivers will do their very best to get the bags to this location, but we make no guarantee that this will be achievable. If we are not able to access your preferred drop zone, we will leave your bags in a suitable location on your driveway or on your property.
We do not need you to be at home on the day of your delivery.
Delivery regions
We deliver within a 50-mile radius of our location in Beaminster, Dorset. Delivery charges vary depending on distance and are calculated automatically when you place an online order. Please note our postcode is DT8 3SH and we are not in the centre of Beaminster, but on the outskirts on the Mosterton side.
Shipping costs
Delivery charges are as follows:
Up to 5 miles from our yard – FREE
Over 5 miles and up to 15 miles: £22 per order
Over 15 miles and up to 30 miles: £35 per order
Over 30 miles and up to 40 miles: £50 per order
Over 40 miles and up to 50 miles: £60 per order
The team are happy to discuss bulk orders and deliveries over longer distances on a bespoke basis.
Pickup
Pickup is available by appointment from North Buckham Farm at no additional charge. Please contact the team on 01308 863 054 or email enquiries@chedingtoncompost.co.uk to arrange collection.
Returns and cancellations
We will offer a full refund when a return or cancellation is requested within 24 hours of delivery. There may be a charge for a collection if you have ordered the wrong product or it is no longer needed. Refunds can take up to 14 working days to be processed.
Potential service interruptions
Please be aware that delivery times may vary due to demand and delivery route changes. We will keep customers informed if delivery is expected to take longer than 5 working days from the date the order was placed.
Delivery Vehicles
We have two options for delivery either with our tractor and trailer or with truck and trailer.
The tractor is a large vehicle with a crane trailer so we can lift bags off and drop them onto your property. But due to its size there are restrictions on where it can access. The tractor is able to deliver up to 8 bags of product or loose loads in a tipping trailer. In some cases the crane can drop bags over a small wall or fence, providing the level on the other side matches that the tractor is parked on, but we make no guarantee we will be able to do this.
Truck and trailer option can get access into properties with restricted access, but we are not able to lift bags over walls with this option. The bags will be slid off the tipping trailer into place. We can carry up to 3 bags on the trailer or smaller loose loads for tipping.
When placing your order please make us aware of any overhead powerlines, steep hills or cambers at the drop point as this will ensure we can bring the correct vehicle.
